Rent A Laptop

A person being able to rent a laptop would be a great way to get more laptops in the hands of people that can’t afford them on their own. Also people who only want a laptop for a short period of time would benefit from being able to rent one. Having a laptop or any kind of computer can increase the knowledge and productivity of many individuals.

They are great for entertainment through games and video websites also. The portability of laptops can mean that you could easily take them with you on business trips and vacations. If a person could rent one then they could have them for their vacation without having to spend all the money to purchase a brand new laptop.

While it is an advantage to be able to rent them there are a variety of things that a person should look for before renting a laptop. What the laptop can do in relation to what the person wants in a computer is the first.

A few examples would be if it is fast enough for people who want to surf the internet or if the graphics are good enough for people wanting to play video games. Secondly, people should look for what software is included with the laptop like anti-virus, word processing software, and internet access. If any of the preloaded software is subscription based, the length of the prescription should be looked at. Battery life and durability are always key factors when looking at a laptop for anyone for any reason.

When renting one the return policy and warranty would be helpful information also because they would need to be sufficient enough to cover standard usage problems. The price will definitely be a determining factor, whether it is contract price or annual rental fee. Other conditions of the contract like late fees, length of the rental, deposit amount, and conditions on the amount of the deposit to be returned and when are all necessary pieces of information before making a decision on a rental.

Lastly, the condition of the product upon return should be known. If it has to be in too good of a condition, like practically unused, then it would not be good to rent. Some good places to rent them at would be major electronics stores like Best Buy and RadioShack, rental places like Rent-A-Center and large department stores like Wal-Mart and Target.

Update: One of our readers, Larry Laven, sent us this list of things to remember when renting a laptop.

1. You will need have at least three references for most rental stores do not check credit to verify identity. But they will call the references to make sure you are who you say you are and how long they known you also most rental stores will have you complete and sign off on a contract that will bind you to certain conditions if the laptop is ever damage or stolen or if you make lapse in payment.

2. Know what kind of laptop you are going to rent. There are now Laptops and “Net books” and by that it means smaller lighter laptops that is not equipped with a DVD-Drive and not built to be the fastest but to be used for its portability and to quickly access the internet, uses USB devices to save data(IE usb flash drives) and not be used as a workhorse. Do a laptop comparison before renting.

3. Good to know how long you will be using it. Some rental stores charge by the week and others will charge you monthly and now some even let you rent by that day, so if you just need it for two weeks make sure you ask the customer service agent if there is a option to rent it weekly.

4. Decide if you do want to rent to own, some popular rental stores will give you the option to “rent to own” whereas you making rental payments to the purchase of a future laptop if you do like the laptop you are renting.

5. check out if the customer service agent has a laptop that you can test out before you rent the actual laptop, that way you know what you are getting and if that particular laptop is your style then you can choose that model or ask to test out a different one that suits you.

Acer Aspire Timeline Review

It’s amazing how small they are making Laptops these days. I guess just like the cell phone industry, as time goes on the products keep getting smaller. Recently while looking for laptops on sale, I’ve found one that shocked me.

The Acer Aspire Timeline laptop has to be the thinnest as well as the lightest laptop with a normal size laptop screen. I know there are those little laptops out there for $300 , but they don’t have the RAM nor the hard drive space as most others. The Timeline comes with three different size screen to chose from. The smallest being 13.3″ and the largest measuring at 15.6″. The Acer Aspire Timeline models are all about once inch think, with the heaviest one weighing only 5.3lbs.

As for the quality of the laptop, it’s just a good as any other brand of laptops out there. The Acer Aspire Timeline has at least 3 GB of RAM as well as 160GB of hard drive. You can have more of each if you want, but if you’re looking for very cheap laptops, you will easily get by with the basic hardware. The lowest price that I’ve found for one of these is $399.

As usual, there are many different ways that you could upgrade the base unit, but it will cost you quite a bit more. If you’re going to be just on the internet, checking emails, or any other of the basic things, the basic unit is more than what you’ll need. If someone who likes to play online games, or some of the those types of game that you need to download on to your laptop, then you will need a little more muscle in your laptop.

Either way this Acer notebook computer is a good laptop for sale and will do what you”ll need it to do. With it being one of the thinnest ones out there, you won”t have a problem carrying it around.

Are you getting ready to start going to college soon and are looking at your options when it comes to finding the best laptop? Cheap new laptops are essential for anyone who is currently attending college or who will be attending soon. Sometimes you will have instructors who talk faster than you can write and you will not be able to catch everything that they are saying to write it down fast enough. One of the most popular laptops on sale for students is the Toshiba Satellite. You will find several great features such as the 15.6 inch screen that will help you to have everything that you need for typing notes and doing research. This laptop comes with the latest version of Windows which is Windows 7 and has all of the storage you need for saving your documents that will be important for your classes. You will have 500 Gigabytes of storage which means that you will be able to store four years worth of notes. You will also get a DVD drive, an Intel Core processor, and a great graphics package making this one of the best cheap laptops to study for finals on.

Another great laptop for sale that college students like is the Compaq Presario. You will get many similar features that you will get with the above Toshiba including Windows 7 and a 15.6 inch display, but this laptop has a few different features. One thing you may notice is that it has half of the storage capacity of the Toshiba with a 250 Gigabyte hard drive, but that is still more than enough space to store your notes for the four years you will be in college. Also, instead of just having a DVD player you will get a DVD +/- R burner. That means you can make backup copies of your favorite movies or make presentations for your classes on a DVD disc.

There are a lot of other very cheap laptops that are perfect for college students that you may want to check out, but these two will give you plenty to make it through all of your classes and perform all of the tasks and assignments that you will have. If you are going to be attending college you will need to have a good laptop with you at all times.

Update: One of our long time readers, ‘Rick TLA’ gave us his suggestions for five of the cheapest laptops currently on the market.

1. 7” laptop by Ubisurfer: This 7” screen laptop is a product from Ubisurfer, a UK based company. They are offering free internet with the laptop. School students normally needs laptops for writing, painting and for doing internet browsing. So they don’t need any high quality laptops. The ubisurfer laptop can be used for all the purposes. There is no in built CD/DVD optical drive with the laptop. The specifications are, it comes out with 128MB RAM and 1GB hard drive. The cost of the laptop is just $180.

2. Laptop from Champion brand: This is one of the most cheapest mini laptop. Its been on the store with a one year warranty. Laptop has got a wider screen about 10.2”. the specifications are, N270 Intel Atom processor with 1GB RAM and 250 GB hard disk.Its cost is $328

3. ASUS Eee Pc 1005HA: This laptop has got lot of advanced techniques than the above ones. It has got 6 cell battery, used for playing videos. This laptop also has got 1 year warranty. The specifications are , a N280 processor with 1 GB Ram and 160nGB hard disk space.Its cost is about $383

4. Aspire One Laptop-AOD250: this laptop has got an in built multiple card reader and a wide display 10.1”. The laptop also got a web camera. The specifications are, a N280 Atom processor with a speed of 1.66 GHz and 1 GB RAM and 160GB hard disk space. It costs $428

5. Lenovo Ideapad S10 Laptop: This laptop is available in two colors, black and grey. The major advantage is that it has got 6hrs of battery power. The screen size is 10.1”. The specifications are, a N280 Atom processor, 1Gb RAM and 160GB hard disk space. The operating system installed is windows Vista, which can change according to the user need. The cost of the product is $437.

Choosing A Pink Laptop

Pink laptops are no different on the inside than any other laptop computer. The only big difference is that they have a pink exterior shell casing, which makes them very obvious. They are also manufactured for a specific group of people. This could be women, teenage girls or anyone who would like a laptop with a different look to it.

Laptops, regardless of the outer casing are portable computers that are compact enough to fit on a person’s laps and be used to work from. The benefits of using a laptop over a desktop is that it does need any wiring, operates from a chargeable battery and can be used anywhere in the world without being plugged into a socket.

Pink laptops are usually accompanied by matching accessories such as a laptop bag, mouse mats and mouses etc. At times computer manufacturers make special or designer laptops to celebrate an occasion or to raise money for a charitable cause. These versions can cost more but the extra money generated goes to a good cause.

Many smaller computer manufacturing companies may not charge a phenomenal sum of money to make a pink casing for any laptop ordered through them. Many other companies and workshops will offer to modify an ordinary laptop and replace its exterior with a pink version. This service can be rather expensive because it means that a buyer must pay for the purchase of a laptop and then more again to have the casing transformed into a matching color.

The additional features that can be customized to look pink will be a pink colored keyboard, pink screen surround and pink visuals to match the pink of the casing. Other than that, the processing unit, storage system, optical drives and any software is what you would find in a standard machine.
