Pink laptops are no different on the inside than any other laptop computer. The only big difference is that they have a pink exterior shell casing, which makes them very obvious. They are also manufactured for a specific group of people. This could be women, teenage girls or anyone who would like a laptop with a different look to it.

Laptops, regardless of the outer casing are portable computers that are compact enough to fit on a person’s laps and be used to work from. The benefits of using a laptop over a desktop is that it does need any wiring, operates from a chargeable battery and can be used anywhere in the world without being plugged into a socket.

Pink laptops are usually accompanied by matching accessories such as a laptop bag, mouse mats and mouses etc. At times computer manufacturers make special or designer laptops to celebrate an occasion or to raise money for a charitable cause. These versions can cost more but the extra money generated goes to a good cause.

Many smaller computer manufacturing companies may not charge a phenomenal sum of money to make a pink casing for any laptop ordered through them. Many other companies and workshops will offer to modify an ordinary laptop and replace its exterior with a pink version. This service can be rather expensive because it means that a buyer must pay for the purchase of a laptop and then more again to have the casing transformed into a matching color.

The additional features that can be customized to look pink will be a pink colored keyboard, pink screen surround and pink visuals to match the pink of the casing. Other than that, the processing unit, storage system, optical drives and any software is what you would find in a standard machine.

Finding the right laptops on sale can be a daunting task nowadays with all of the selections out there. I only use one website when it comes to buying laptops and that is newegg. There are many things you should know about when buying a laptop. You cannot really key in on three important things, but here are possibly the three most important things when buying one on sale.

First, the amount of RAM that the system has is very crucial for its performance. Depending on your needs, RAM can make you or break you. For example, if you plan on loading some games on there or doing things that require precision timing, RAM is a big factor. If you do not have enough of it, it can slow your computer down and even cause it to freeze up. Most software requires that you now have at least one gigabyte of RAM. I would recommend getting at least two to three gigabytes, and most good laptops come with that, or at least have the capabilities for more.

Another key part of buying laptops and notebooks on sale is the processor speed. Many laptops will give you great deals, but have poor processing speeds. Processors do all the computing on your computer. These small chips pack a ton of power. Most are over two gigahertz, but the more the better. You also want to get the newest chips out there since they have the most transistors and work the fastest. This is important to make sure your laptop runs at its peak performance.

Hard drives are also important in your purchase of laptops. Software is becoming extremely large, and many people run tons of programs on their computer at different times. This causes them to need humongous hard drives, many over three hundred gigabytes. Many of them come with this, but many do not, and the price will reflect that.

Of course, if you want the best, laptops on sale might not be the best. However, Newegg has a bunch of laptops on sale that are great and very consumer friendly. The best bang for your buck is the Acer laptop. They are cheap, but very well put together. Asus are not well known by many consumers, but they put the best laptop together for under one thousand dollars.

If you really want to buy a laptop but don’t have a lot of money to spend, search for the best deals on cheap new laptops before you buy the first one you see.

Laptop Disk Clean Up

Even the best laptops and computers can slow down after a while. It’s not anything you might have done, it’s just something that happens from the different programs or other things that you may have downloaded from the internet. Not to worry though, with a few easy step, you can clean up your system to run much better than it is now.

1. Free up disk space
You may not realize it it, but many little files and other things are saved in different areas of your hard drive that you can easily remove by running Disk Clean up. This tools will help you free up space on your hard drive. The program identifies all the files that you can safely delete, along with you having the choice to delete any or all of the identified files.

Use Disk Cleanup to:

Remove temporary Internet files.
Remove Windows temporary files.
Remove downloaded program files that you no longer use
Remove optional Windows components that you don’t use.

2. Defragment the hard Drive
When files are stored in you hard drive, it causes your system to take longer to gather the information since your computer will typically fragment them. When you use the utility, it consolidates fragmented files and folders on your computer’s hard disk so that each occupies a single space on the disk. The computer will have an easier time located and reading the files. I typically run this program once a month.

3. Detect and repair disk errors

After running the two utilities, to optimize your computer or laptop’s performance, check the integrity of you files by running the Error Checking utility. Over time the computer can and will develop bad sectors, causing the slow down of the hard drive as well as making data writing (file saving) difficult, if not impossible. The utility will scan the drive for any bad sectors and searches for any files or folders are misplaced.

Taking these few steps can save you a world of grief. If you’re like me and you use your computer or laptop on a daily basis, you should run these utilities once a month, especially if you own one of the very cheap laptops that are being sold online.

Where To Buy Laptops On Sale Online

In my last post I spoke about where to go in person to buy laptops on sale. This post is going to look at places to go online to make your purchase. I know from experience that there are more places to go online than there is to go in person, especially if you’re looking for very cheap laptops.

The first place I’ll talk about is Dell.com where the site is easy to navigate and won’t drive you crazy in the process. The first computer that I ever bought was done this way though Dell. At the time I didn’t have any true knowledge about computers and laptops, but the site made it a lot less painful for me. Let’s fast forward ten years and look at the site that it is now. The choices now seem to be endless and even easier than before to use. You have the option to build your laptop the way you want it and that even includes choosing the color. To help keep the price down you can alter certain options to fit your needs as well. Cheap new laptops are not impossible to fine if you don’t add all the bells and whistles.

Gateway is another laptop and computer maker that has their own site. Their site is also easy to operate. As with Dell’s site you can also build the laptop of your dreams, but if you read my last post, you’ll know that I’m not to pleased with their products. No that I mention it, their post-purchase customer service wasn’t too good either. To each their own, this is only my opinion.

If you want you can also go to the “big box” stores that offer a website that you can purchase laptop or notebooks on sale but since they sell many different brands and you are dealing with someone that you can’t see, it’s pretty hard to know if they know what they are selling you. For all you know they might be reading off cue cards to get though the sale.

Last but not least, there are some small mom and pop’s websites out there that are very good (as well as some that are real bad) that will take good care of you. I have one colleague who has used a couple of these places to buy his laptops and said that he gets great service from them. I won’t mention their name or their site, but believe me there are some small sites that will give you a great deal because they want to get your business. You might also be able to rent a laptop if buying one is not in your budget.
