There are quite a few options of cheap laptops for students but it is always safest to stick with main brands as they ensure quality. I would definitely recommend HP Mini 210-1084NR which can be purchased for under $300. Of course, with such a price tag may not come the best configuration or features but they should definitely be enough for daily computer work and home or school use. This particular laptop comes with an Intel Atom Processor N450, 1.66 GHz, 1 GB DDR RAM and 160 GB of hard disk capacity.

I bought an Acer Aspire netbook for 200 dollars at Wal-Mart and am very happy with it! It’s quite small and doesn’t have a ton of hard-drive storage, but for a student I think it’s the perfect laptop! It comes with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. It’s small and lightweight and easy to carry around from place to place, has almost 3 hours of battery life, and has great wireless! I would definitely recommend this laptop to incoming college students!

When looking for a cheap laptop for school, you must take several factors into account- RAM, hard drive space and operating system. For RAM, I suggest that you at least have at least 2 GB of RAM installed. The next thing to consider is the hard drive. Try to get the largest hard drive that you can afford. Lastly is your operating system; most laptops now run on Windows 7. However, Windows XP is still a viable OS.

Nowadays there is a huge selection of laptops available. The important thing I considered while buying a laptop was the screen size as I spend much time in front of my laptop. I looked for a laptop which had a fairly large screen. Finally, I selected Dell Inspiron i545.First it is affordable, second it enables you to surf the Internet, upload and organize digital photos and have video chatting. Besides, possessing a powerful dual-core processors this laptop enables me to handle some multimedia as well.

I recently purchased an Emachines mini netbook with a 10 inch screen, 160 GB hard drive, and 1GB RAM as a gift for my twin brother. Of course I had to plug it in and play a little on it first, but I absolutely love it and he’s thrilled to have it. It has plenty of storage space for him in college, and it’s so small and light that it’s super easy to tote around. It weighs hardly anything and takes up hardly any space in his bag. Great for college where there isn’t exactly a ton of space to go around! Best part about it was with my Walmart Associate discount, it was right around $200, so the price really can’t be beat for a brand new computer.

I purchased a Dell mini not too long ago. I think it averaged around 250$. I can honestly say I love this little computer. It may not have as much ram as I’d like, but it gets the job done. Just as other laptops, you’re always capable of getting an external hard drive as well. It runs pretty fast, and is perfect for internet browsing. Its cheap, affordable, and I am surprised by how well it operates. Normally I can’t have a laptop for over 6 months without it breaking in one way or another. The Dell Mini is a great option for someone on a tight budget.

Last week I bought a Gateway Laptop which cost $900 and I already saving up for it for about a year. The specifications are hot, it has an Intel icore3 processor, 4G RAM, 500G Hard Drive and a 1G nVidia video card. The size of the laptop is quite big, it is 15 inches and the screen is beautiful like full high definition and I really enjoy watching movies and playing some heavy games on it. Even though the laptop I bought is expensive, I was very satisfied on its performance.
