Comparing Netbooks: HP And Dell

A worthwhile trend nowadays when shopping for laptops on sale is the netbook, which is available from the folks at Dell and HP.

Smaller and more convenient weighing in at 2 and a half pounds each, they feature a 10 inch screen and both come in a variety of bright colours. One would be surprised at how easy they are to use as well, seeing as they both feature a keyboard that is about 90% the size of a normal one.

Now for the differences folks. Price: Dell costs $239 and boasts 24 hour shipment and HP costs $229 and is available locally. The slight difference between the two does not indeed change the fact that these netbooks which work as well and as fast as a basic laptop cost half as much as their larger counterparts. Shopping for cheap new laptops is not hard when you know what each company offers.

One thought is that although they are a bit less beefy than larger screen laptop computers they are still only about a year behind and have a great price for the service they offer. RAM on each is 1GB and hard drive for each is about 60GB, great for a normal computer user.

The best function besides price is style. Compact, attractive and available in many colors they look great and somewhat futuristic at any age. WiFi makes it an ideal toy for checking email at the cafe or looking up quick facts at the lunchroom or library before a meeting.

Yes, there are a lovely variety of protective cases available for 10 inch netbooks, many of which are designed to look like a purse with art or floral patterns. If I were to choose a brand I would choose the HP in pink.

Although the Dell netbook has convenient options like payment plans, 48 hour delivery and a toll free technical assistance line for Dell owners, the HP has a slight edge in price and is generally of better quality and longevity. Dell has much better choice of colour in a multitude of strong candy-coloured casings but overall HP is still thinner, sleeker and more attractive. There are some cheap Dell laptops on the market though that might be just what you need.

If this does not sound like the type of device for you, then consider it for a young one on your gift list, as it is cheap and a fun starter computer. The best of luck selecting your next computing device.

Finding The Best Laptops On Sale

Finding the best laptops on sale isn’t always the hardest task if you know where to look. There are many online stores that offer great deals, as well as many of the standard “brick and mortar” establishments you might already be used to. Some of the names are going to be familiar, and some of them you might never have heard of before. That’s okay! That’s why you’ve searched online and found your way to this site: to find a great sale on laptops. I’ll help.

Naturally I think the best place to start is online. Why is that exactly? Well, it’s simple. You can often get the best deals online due to the fact that these online stores have very little overhead. They don’t have a building they have to pay for every month, they simply have hosting. They don’t have scads of employees to work cash registers and stock the shelves, either. They can make a profit while offering drastically better deals than the stores, allowing them to offer you some really outstanding deals.

Naturally I don’t think that you should just go off to the first site you find online. You need to be careful whenever dealing with anything online, particularly when you’re giving out your credit card information. Certainly most are honest businesses looking to do good by their customers, but even then, I think you should stick to the sites that are already well established when buying cheap laptops and notebooks on sale. Those would typically be sites such as Tiger Direct, New Egg, and any of the large manufacturer’s sites (such as Dell, Apple, HP, Toshiba, etc.). I’m certain that there are some other great sites, but it’s better to be safe than sorry!

In my humble opinion, Tiger Direct has always been the best online store for finding laptops on sale. It’s a store that’s been around since before the internet became popular; in fact, the store itself has been around for 20 whole years. That’s even pre-AOL if you can believe that! Their customer service has always been top-notch, and you can be assured of getting a good product. They also sell some very cheap refurbished laptops, many of which offer savings of up to 50%. New Egg also offers some great products, so definitely search both before you run off to the store.

Should you not find what you need online (not likely!), you might try going to a normal store for your laptop needs. The best brick and mortar store in my opinion is Fry’s Electronics. This store doesn’t exist everywhere; it’s mostly a west coast USA establishment, but if you can find one near you, it’s almost as good as going online. Their selection and prices are unbeatable compared to stores such as Best Buy, Staples, etc. They don’t even compare.

So, there you have it everyone! Today was admittedly a basic overview of where to find laptops on sale, but it should have been a solid primer for you whenever you decide to buy a laptop for yourself. Thanks for reading!

Black Friday Laptops On Sale

I remember that a couple of years ago laptops were expensive and quite exquisite, as only a bunch of people could afford them. A lot has changed since then, but even today, people are still looking for deals and bargains on laptops for sale. You can still find cheap new laptops if you know where and when to look.

Such deals are usually available all year long, especially when a new line of devices is announced and retailers try to get rid of old stocks. However, the best sales offers can be found during late November and December, the period officially called “Winter sales season”.

Regular laptops now run from around 400 bucks to as high as 3 to 5 thousand bucks, for the highly performing gaming rigs (like Alienware). It’s a vast range and anyone can find something suitable in between. Expensive laptops might get price cuts from time to time (significant I might say), but they’ll still remain pricey.

Standard and cheap laptops however can drop from their regular $500-$600 bucks for instance, to as low as $350-$400. I am expecting the biggest drops on November 27th this year, during Black Friday 2009 day. You might be able to get some very good Black Friday laptop sales offers that day, especially as early birds (products only available early in the morning, as “baits” to lure people in stores) . These deals however run out incredibly fast, and you might have to get in lines early in the night and fight some angry shoppers to buy the most popular laptops for sale.

Online webstores offer good bargains on laptops too. I would suggest scooping Dell’s or HP’s homepages on Black Friday and the week just before Christmas if you want to profit from the price cuts. Keep an eye out for cheap Dell laptops as they’re usually a good bargain.

Also, if you want, there’s the alternative of the smaller cheaper notebooks called netbooks. You could get some of the best such netbook computers for around $300 bucks, and they are good enough for most standard applications, while being very light and offering incredible battery life (around 6-7 hours).

Last but not least, you can go for refurbished laptops. They are usually 20 to 40 % discounted, but might have minor scratches and faults and come with only up to 6 month warranty.

In the end, I’m pretty sure there will be some very very good deals on laptops in the following two months. It will be just up to you to be able to profit from them and get the desired product for the desired price.

Laptops On Sale – Dell Vostro

Have you noticed that there are many different places out there competing for your business so much that they’re ready to just give you the laptop. Actually not for free, but almost everyone out there has laptops on sale. In some cases the prices are just too hard to believe.

The need for computers are growing by leaps and bounds, but the prices have come down greatly. Now is the time to check out some of the leaders of technology and see what kind of laptop for sale they can offer you.

Take a look at Dell, they have their new Vostro 1720 laptop which is great for small and medium size business owner. If there was ever a time to invest in a good quality notebooks on sale without spending too much. I picked up this one at such a great price at just under $1000.

The reason I paid even that much was because I wanted the 4GB of memory. If I wasn’t looking for the extra memory then I could have save another $300 by getting the one with just 1 GB of memory. Cheap Dell laptops are a great buy no matter what. I don’t recommend getting a laptop of any kind with just 1GB of memory. The reason for that is that you’ll find that the system doesn’t run as efficiently has it should. You can get the unit with 2GB of memory and spend less than $850 for it.

As for the rest of the Vostro, it has everything I need, a 17″ screen, an 80gig hard drive along with Windows Vista. I will say that if you are the type of person that uses Skype or any other VIoP type system, this laptop doesn’t have a integrated webcam or microphone. Like I said the Vostro 1720 has everything I need.

Maybe it’s all you really need too.

Laptops On Sale – Refurbished Units

When you’re looking for laptops on sale, have you ever considered a refurbished laptop or computer? Most of us would think that they were referring to a used unit. Well that not exactly correct. Yes the unit didn’t come straight from the factory to the store to you, but there’s more to a refurbished laptop or computer than that. If you’re shopping for cheap laptops, this might be the answer for you.

A refurbished unit is in a sense a used unit, but before you say “I won’t buy one of them”, I want you to know that I wouldn’t want to buy a used laptop either. It could have internal damage from daily use and abuse, but a refurbish unit is a laptop that has been returned to the store and the store ships it back to the manufacturer.

The manufacturer will bring that unit back to the condition that it was at when it was brand new. They will go ahead and wipe the hard drive clean and re-format it. They will also remove all scratches from the unit. Next they will inspect each and every button on the unit as well as the multi-functional operations of the keys. Test the DVD and run programs to see how the do. check the battery to make sure that it passes the same levels that it needed when it was first built.

The reason is I am suggesting you check out reconditioned laptops is in most cases they’re cheaper than the new laptops on sale. If you’re looking for very cheap laptops, you should take time to check them out. There are many websites out there that offer refurbished laptops and computer cheaper than what you will find on Dell or Gateway.

That’s right in most cases you can save a fortune on getting a refurbished laptop. Keep in mind though that there are some sites out there that are not as reputable as others. As always there are people out there that will take advantage of you.
